Podcasts
Podcasts are fast becoming a 'must have' media element for artists, hobbyists and businesses of all sizes who desire an extensible platform by which to distribute audio content. Often, people have the content and the comfort to speak into a microphone, and even have a computer setup that allows them to do this; however, once the content is recorded, there are many steps required before it can be called a 'podcast'.
The typical workflow, is to sit down with a client and determine the general tone they are looking for. A high quality audio recording is made, in some cases on site, and this, professionally mixed with a selected musical score, becomes the branded and consistent introduction and conclusion 'bumpers'. Once this has been completed and agreed upon, the client then records audio regarding the subject of their choice, on their own computer, in most any standard audio format. This recording is sent to us with instructions as to the desired title and in some cases description. The audio content is then imported into a template that has been designed specifically for their needs, and the sound is 'sweetened' (in most cases this means that the noises from computer fans and central heating etc. are removed and the volume is normalized, however, specialized needs can also be met). Finally, we 'mix down' the podcast into an optimized MP3 file complete with ID3 tags (these are the tags that your favorite media player reads to determine such things as 'title' and 'artist') and deliver it back to the client or even host it and supply them with a link or update their RSS 2.0 feed. The end result is an unlimited number of podcasts that have identical branding for a consistent listening experience and a professionally syndicated feel.
