Co-branded Offerings
In many cases, a client will have already developed a web presence that they are happy with and simply want to add media elements. They do not want the trouble of learning Flash or encoding video or installing a large commercial backend PHP application on their server. These sites are typically static (x)HTML pages that are configured to serve text and image resources. That is where we come in. The details for every instance are specific to the client and their site, but the general principle is the same. The client will give us a template for a generic page on their site (or we can also recreate this from simply examining the source code from any page on their site). Next we define the editable areas into which media assets will be embedded. Once this has been completed, our client is able to choose from an a la carte menu of media services and have us custom design solutions to their needs. For instance, if a client has a number of photographs or images that they want to make a slideshow out of, we take the images, in any format, and create an interactive presentation with captions and image specific links that resides in a database on our server. Next we create a Flash component, customized to the color scheme of the web-site to serve up this presentation. We can even add an audio track to the mix and morph the slideshow into a narrated 'slidecast' or audio slideshow. Examples of such can be found on our slidecasts page.
We can also create the audio or even video assets ourselves and then embed them in our co-branded site space. A good example of this is our work with Armstrong's, a ceramics gallery. We contacted the gallery's featured artists and recorded audio interviews and in some cases video clips. From these raw materials we created slidecast presentations and Flash videos, and embedded them into the template that captured the native look and feel of the host site. Finally we provided the client with a specific set of links for the pages we created.
These assets can be viewed on the Art Talks & Slide Casts page on Armstrong's. Note in your browser bar how the domain changes when you go to one of our pages, but the look and feel of the site stay consistent. This is just one example of the many ways that we can take the headache out of adding sophisticated media to your site.
